A taste of the Ceredigion Coast


2014-09-21 19.11.58Join me on a mini adventure along the Cambrian coast rail line departing from the busy town of Porthmadog at the heart of Snowdonia and finish in the much loved town of Barmouth on the mouth of the beautiful river Mawddach.

Along the way you will pass through spectacular landscape, as well as a world heritage site in the form of a majestic medieval castle built by Edward I; view one of the most magificient sandy beaches in the world with the highest mountain in Wales as a perfect backdrop. Harlech Castle

Learn about the tumultuos and bloody history of Harlech Castle in the middle ages. Immerse in the rich wildlife of the Ceredigion coast and hear about the myths and legends of Cantre’r Gwaelod – Wales’s very own lost city of atlantis.

Learn about the fascinating hidden history of Barmouth, with its proud maritime past and walk along the victorian engineering masterpiece of the Barmouth rail bridge spanning the magnificent Mawddach estuary.

The tour will commence at 10pm in Porthmadog and will return to Porthmadog at 6pm.  A tour of Harlech Castle is included with a discounted admission fee to Harlech Castle. Transport from Harlech rail station to the castle is included.
